I was so happy about the "bosco del pesce" only 1.5 km from my home. And there were good vibes, when Melinda was in the kitchen and her mother was serving the clients. The idea was cute to develop a fish restaurant among Umbrian boars and sausages.
With Melinda gone, the food lost her inspiration. The same menu and dishes, but not the same spirit. When I came back in May this year also Melinda's mother was gone. The atmosphere was quite gloomey, but the "frittura di pesce" , all "merluzzi" was still very good. They never had an idea about wines at "Bosco del Pesce", but a bottle of "Poggio dei Gelsi" from Cotarella for 11 Euros was quite a treat. The cocktails of shrimps was too much mayonaise, but the deep fried little Octopus with balsamic vinegar very good. Bill for 2 persons, 60 Euros, ok...
Next time when I came there was nothing to eat than pizza, but the Pizza Ortolana was excellent. Next visit the frittura was not as fresh as it should be and the pizza Ortalano was so salty that I woke up in the night, because I had to drink water.
There were always highlights and glitches. Warm pizza in the bread basket, but "olio della comunitá Europea"
They still did not close down, so there is hope and I will come back to test.
