We just finished our work at QWine, and it was worthwhile. We presented 3 wineries, "Tenuta di Salviano2, "Scacciadiavoli" and "Duca della Corgna", with a selection of excellent wines from Umbria.
The top products "Sagrantino di Montefalco", "Solideo" from Lago di Corbara, "Primitivo Cantina Terribile" from Puglia and "Divina Villa" from Lago di Trasimeno were highly appreciated. But also "Baccio del Rosso" and "Corio" were liked by our visitors.
We wish all the best to our friends and customers, those in China, who are just getting their head out of the crisis and those in Italy, where we are on the peak of the crisis. We had big plans for spring this year and wanted to open the promotion campaign for "Duca della Corgna" winery. But the circumstances forced us to postpone all bigger events until autumn. In the meantime we are preparing information material.
This autumn we will participate in numerous activities in China. We will be present in Chengdu on a conference of the ItalyChina project from September 19-21, then we will participate at the Agricultural Fair in Chengdu from September 25-29.
I October we will organize tastings and open bars in Beijing. In November we will have a booth at the Qwine exhibition. We will promote "Solideo" and "Turlò" from Salviano, Sagrantino from Scacciadiavoli. At Qwine we will also start a new collaboration presenting a range of wines from "Duca della Corgna".
We made a comparative testing of the wines Vignafante (Cimate), Palaia (Monrubio) eTurlò ((Salviano). All 3 wines are Sangiovese blends from 2016. They have a similar ex cellar price.
Palaia and Turlò are old acquaintances, Palaia already on the Chinese market, Turlò in the ship for arrival beginning of June. Vignafante is a newcomer from the excellent Cimate winery, which Sagrantino did win the latest comparative Sagrantino tasting.
The WineSong tasting studio in Orvieto organized an event to taste 3 Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG (Tudernum 2011, Cimate 2014, Scacciadiacoli 2015) and 3 Umbria Rosso IGT made from Sagrantino (Castello di Montegiove 2010, Tili Vini 2011 and Chiorri 2015). The tasters (professionals and wine lovers) enjoyed the explosion of tannins from hard to soft to round, which was offered by this choice of wines.
WineSong will open in 2019 tasting studios in Orvieto and Guangzhou.
The Guangzhou tasting studio will open in November and will held tasting events for importers and resellers and open bars for everyone.
Winesong Ltd established today a new strategic alliance with Nanogress in Foshan. Nanogress is an important Chinese producer of "Gress Porcellanato". It's main design studio is in Milan. More than 20 sales offices of Nanogress in China are associated with a wine and coffee bar serving Italian wine and coffee!
It is good to have a bottle of wine in the bag heading out for food in Guangzhou. It is still a small minority of Restaurants in the town that offer you a glass of wine, surely none of the street foot stalls, with their delicious snacks, does.
