I was so happy about the "bosco del pesce" only 1.5 km from my home. And there were good vibes, when Melinda was in the kitchen and her mother was serving the clients. The idea was cute to develop a fish restaurant among Umbrian boars and sausages.

This place is situated at one of the most famous and beautiful squares of Orvieto. We ended up there, because it was the 2nd of May, all  on the Corso Restaurants were closed and Cecilia absolutely wanted to see the Rome Liverpool match. So I entered a place that looks like a Fast Food Place and into which I normally would not put my foot into,  Luckily I did.  Ok, you cannot  stay  on the second floor, they built on top of the kitchen (if you do  not want to combine eating and sauna). The eating space downstairs in front of the Pizza Oven is pretty ugly,  but if you get a place on the terrace, it cannot be  more  luxury with a fabulous view on Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo.

..everything too much,  except structure...I bought yesterday these low  level  (120 RMB/bottle) Australian wines in a supermarket in Guangzhou,  tasted various others from Chile and Australia in the last days.I don't want to be misunderstood: there are excellent wines from Chile and Australia  (and I encountered one from Chile last week in Singapore),  But most of the entry/low level wines from there exceed in  flavour and lack in structure. But people like it, so what to do? Simply enjoying that they start drinking wine and wait that they get bored by the stuff with less structure. :-)

I went today to a winetasting in Orvieto, nella bottega......... They presented the winery "Paolo e Noemia d'Amico" of Vaiano. The winery is worthwhile to  look at for more than one reason. Very interesting place, vulcanic grounds in about 400 to 500 m altitude, that already is very promising, then they don't stick to autoctonous grapes, mostly they go for international/French grape varietiesThat night we tasted  an Orvieto DOC (with added Pinot Grigio), one Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, 2 Chardonnay, 1 Merlot, Syrah Blend and a Pinot Noir..You can get the details about the wines at the D'Amico website.  The wines were presented by the super competent and nice Enologo of the Winery, a French guy.

Wine Song Ltd and Creative Labe in Guangzhou City organized a wine tasting of 5 Wines, which were imported this year to China, Lambrusco, Soana, Martavello, Assisi Rosato and Assisi Young. Initially there was no food, but this was quickly changed by purchasing from a near Restaurant. The Rosè wines matched particularly well the braised goose legs. It was told later, that the tasting escalated into drinking with some of the participants more than tipsy. All wines were finished, but this is no problem, they can be ordered from the Mingle Club shop.
