The Loacker family name is synonymous with fine wine well beyond the borders of
Italy, wines produced with utmost respect for nature and the environment according
to bio-dynamic cultivation principles, while resorting exclusively to homeopathic
remedies in times of need. The family now owns three estates. Founder, Rainer
Loacker and his son Hayo recount here the beginnings of this project in their
vineyards, of the arduous and on occasion, frustrating pioneering work, of
disappointments though also of progress and success. They describe their
unswerving commitment to making wine according to their principles in spite of all
setbacks: in harmony with nature. The family concern’s 30 year-old motto: “The first
glass tastes good, the second better, and the third even better” The history of an
impressive life’s work.
Rainer Loacker is a man of action. He exudes lusty, exuberant vitality and has done

has established three wine estates in Italy. He acquired the first of these three
estates more than three decades ago, situated in South Tyrol and bearing the name
Schwarhof. The second, Corte Pavone in the area of the Tuscan village of
Montalcino famous for its wine Brunello di Montalcino, was acquired by the Loacker
family in 1996, while the third, Valdifalco, is located in the very south of Tuscany
close to the sea in the area called the Maremma.
